Fort Rucker hosts a wide variety of special events throughout the year such as Children’s Festival, Lake Fest, Freedom Fest, and Oktoberfest. These events feature an assortment of food and merchandise vendors, children’s inflatables, music, games, and many other activities sure to please the whole family! Fort Rucker also hosts the Pro-Am Golf Tournament, Soldier Show, Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony, Comedy Live, and Army Entertainment events. Most events are family friendly and the majority are free!
September 26, Oktoberfest: Join us Friday, September 26 for Oktoberfest on the Festival Fields from 4:30-9:30 pm. Fort Rucker’s 12th Annual Oktoberfest features live German music by Sonnenschein Express, traditional German food including bratwurst and schnitzel, German beer, keg toss competition, Volkswagen Show & Shine and a good time to be had! At this family-friendly event there are also inflatables for the children, a pumpkin patch, craft activities and more! September 27, Sesame Street/USO Experience for Military Families: The Sesame Street USO Experience for Military Families will be performing at the School Age Center at 2pm & 4:30pm September 27. Doors open 30 minutes prior to the show. Open to Military ID card holders. Tickets are no longer available. Limited seating will be open to non ticket holders 10 minutes prior to each show. October 17, Comedy Live:
Join us for a fun night of laughs and jokes at Comedy Live at Rucker, October 17th from 8 – 10 pm in The Landing Ballroom. Fort Rucker is bringing in high quality entertainers to provide comic relief to our patrons. Corey Mack will be the opening act, and Landry will be the Headlining Act. Cost for Regular Advanced tickets is $12 each by October 16 and $16 afterwards. Cost for a VIP table (seats 10 patrons) are $150 and guarantees you a seat close to the stage. This is one of Fort Rucker’s most popular events, so get your tickets while they last! Tickets will be available in the Catering Office located inside The Landing and 5700 & Lyster Coffee Zones. October 18, Outdoor Yard Sale & Flea Market: Join us October 18 on the Festival Fields from 7-11 am for the Outdoor Yard Sale & Flea Market. This outdoor event is open to the public and provides the opportunity for the Fort Rucker community to buy and sell used household items in a consolidated fashion. Limited tables are also available to rent and booth space fees apply to sellers. No commercial vendors allowed. Registration due by Wednesday, October 15. Government Rate (active-duty & dependents, retired, reserve, DOD civilians): 15×20 – $20, 30×20 – $30, Tables – $10/ea. General Public:15×20 – $30, 30×20 – $40, Tables – $10/ea. November 5, Clydesdales Military Salute: Join us Wednesday, November 5th in The Landing parking lot near Howze Field from 5-7 pm to see the World Renowned Budweiser Clydesdales. December 4, Christmas Tree Lighting: The Annual Fort Rucker Christmas Tree Lighting will be held at Howze Field from 5-6pm. Join us for a delightful evening of music, hot chocolate, the lighting of the post Christmas Tree, and a very special visitor from the North Pole! Afterward, enjoy complimentary photos with Santa & Mrs. Claus at the Landing – they may also have some treats for those good girls and boys! This event is free and open to the public and EFMP friendly. In case of inclement weather, the event will take place at the Landing.
