Family Child Care (or FCC) homes are an integral part of CYS Services. These homes offer child care services to children whose parents have irregular duty hours, children who need small group settings, and those preferring care in a home setting.
An FCC provider may be an excellent choice for parents who have an infant, toddler, or preschooler. Parents can be assured that their communication with the provider is one that is supportive and encouraging as their child grows. Parents are involved in every step of the developmental milestones. The FCC program will form relationships that last a lifetime. FCC users must register with CYS Services. Parents can pick up names of potential providers from Parent Central Services.
Parent fees are based on total Family income and follow DOD fee guidance as in other Fort Rucker CYSS programs. FCC providers participate in the subsidy program designed to increase the availability of care for special needs children, infant care, income equalization, part-time care and extended care. Many of the incentives are offered to promote certain types of care.
Providers and parents sign a contract agreeing on fees, hours of care to be provided and terms of payment. Parents considering this option should contact the FCC office for an orientation prior to signing the legally binding contract with an individual FCC provider.
How can I become an FCC Provider?
All FCC Providers must register with CYS Services and be certified prior to opening their home for childcare. Certification classes are held quarterly. Please call for more information on becoming a Family Child Care Provider at 334-255-3446.
