Our Mission: The Fort Rucker Child Development Center (CDC) is committed to offering a consistent, safe, nurturing environment for children ages 6 weeks – kindergarten. The center offers a nurturing staff, balanced, nutritional meals, and age-appropriate activities and curriculum. All staff members are CPR, First Aid, emergency medication, and special needs trained.
General Information
- Certified by the Department of Defense.
- Accredited through the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).
- Balanced, nutritionally approved meals and snacks.
- Age-appropriate developmental activities.
- Parent-involvement activities.
- Parent-teacher conferences conducted twice yearly.

Full-Day Care
- Care for children 6 weeks – kindergarten age.
- 5:30 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Part-Day Toddler
- Children 2-3 years old are eligible.
- Tuesday and Thursday mornings, 8 – 11 a.m.
- Program operates during the school year.
Part-Day Preschool
- Children ages 3-5 years old are eligible.
- Monday – Friday mornings, 8 – 11 a.m.
- Program operates during the school year.
Pre-K Program
- Provides half-day care for children attending the pre-kindergarten program at the Fort Rucker Primary School.
- Fort Rucker school buses pick-up/drop-off at the center.
- Full-day care is provided when schools are closed.
Kindergarten
- Before and/or after school care provided for kindergarten children.
- Fort Rucker and Daleville school buses provide transportation to and from school directly to the center.
- Fort Rucker Child & Youth Services provides after school transportation from all Enterprise Elementary and Early Education Centers and some Ozark City Schools, on a space available basis. Please contact the School Liaison officer at 334-255-9812 for sign up.
- Full-day care is provided when schools are closed.
Hourly Care
- Hourly Care is offered Monday – Friday, 7:45 a.m. – 4 p.m.
- Children 6 weeks – kindergarten age are eligible.
- Cost is $4 per hour, with a two hour minimum charge.
- Reservations can be made 14 days in advance by calling 334-255-2262, 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.
- Reservations can be made 24 hours a day by visiting WEBTRAC.
- Reservations are on a space available basis.
- Please cancel any reservations that cannot be kept at least 24 hours in advance.
Special Openings
- Group Special Openings are available.
- A minimum of 15 children is required.
- Please contact the center at least two weeks in advance of the needed date.
- Payments are required in a lump sum at least one week prior to the event.
