The Relocation Readiness Program (RRP) is designed to make your transition a smooth one. The Lending Hangar has roll-a-w
ay beds, car seats, TV/VCR’s, microwaves and various kitchen items available for you to borrow. Relocation is your one stop location for information about the Wiregrass area, including maps and phone directories.

One of the most useful tools for the relocating Soldier or family is the Standard Installation Topic Exchange Service (SITES)
Specific information is printed in a book form for any installation in the world. When you are ready to leave Fort Rucker, just ask about the SITES Program. If you are going overseas, Relocation provides briefings on many foreign locations, including Korea, Germany, Alaska and Hawaii. All Relocation Services are available to:
Active duty military Soldiers and their families.
Reserve and National Guard members on active duty, or an active duty for training, and their families.
Next of Kin of POW (Prisoner Of War) and MIA (Missing In Action) personnel of all Armed Services.
Retired military personnel and their families.
Widows of military personnel who were active duty or retired at the time of death.
DA civilians and their families, if civilian resources are not available.

Newcomer’s Welcome
This welcome is designed to assist military personnel, family members, and DA civilian by providing information about the Fort Rucker community. Newly arrived Soldiers, DA civilians, and family members are welcomed by the command group. They receive information from representatives on the installation and the surrounding communities. Childcare is provided by the Child Development Center with 24 hours advance reservations, 255-3564.

It collects names and phone numbers of newcomers willing to meet others and share their experiences obtained at different military bases.

Lending Hangar
You can borrow items such as: futons, roll-away beds, pots & pans, dishes, and more. Items are loaned for a limited period. Valid ID card holders and DA civilians are eligible. Soldiers in TDY status and civilians are assisted on a limited basis.

Standard Installation Topics Exchange Service (SITES)
SITES is a computerized database that contains Army, Air Force, Navy, and Marine installations. It contains important information about relocating that every soldier and spouse should know. This information can be printed as a booklet or copied on a CD-Rom and will be available after 1100 hours, the next business day. Also visit SITES on-line at www.dmdc.osd.mil/sites.

Waiting Families Program
The Waiting Families Program is a group sponsored by ACS designed to help families cope with separation due to an unaccompanied tour, TDY, PCS or deployment. The group meets on a monthly basis to provide s
upport to its members in a friendly relaxed atmosphere. Participation in the group is strictly voluntary.

If the family will remain in government quarters this briefing is mandatory for departing soldiers, spouse, and assigned sponsor. Briefings are by appointment only, due to limited seating.

Germany Briefing

Briefings are held every 2nd and 4th Wednesday at 1400 hours in Room 193. Designed to answer questions and ease apprehensions about life for soldier and family in Germany. Briefings are by appointment due to limited seating.

Korea Briefing

Briefings are held every 1st and 3rd Wednesday at 1400 hours in Room 193. Designed to answer questions and ease apprehensions about life for the soldier and family in Korea. Briefings are by appointment due to limited seating.

Alaska and Hawaii Briefings
When requested briefing will be at 1400 hours in Room 193. Topics include transportation, cost of living, climate, and recreation. Briefings are by appointment due to limited seating.

Sponsorship Training

This training is design to help the soldiers become better sponsors. Explain the role and the requirements mandated by AR 608-8-8. Assist the sponsor in providing information and assistance to relocating soldiers and families. Training can also be held at unit level.

Immigration/Naturalization Service
The Relocation Readiness Program role in the citizenship application process is primarily administrative.
RRP will:

Assist military spouses with information forms and reviewing their citizenship application.
Act as a liaison between the member and INS when required.
