Lake Tholocco is a 640-acre facility that offers a full range of recreation activities. Fort Rucker and the surrounding communities are encouraged to visit. You can take your pick from swimming, boating, camping, RV parking, volleyball, basketball, and hiking.  Pavilion and beaches are available for all to use.

Boating activities of all types is allowed year round.

The swimming program along with the snack bar located on West Beach is operational beginning Saturday before Memorial Day through Labor Day each year from 1100 – 1800. Patrons may use the one adult water slide, children's water slide and trampoline. Life jackets are recommended. Swimming at your own risk is not allowed.
 

Anyone who likes to camp may want to visit Engineer Beach located beyond West Beach on Fort Rucker. The camping area consists of 18 rustic and 30 modern campsites with water and electric hookups, rest rooms, picnic areas, playground, showers, and dump station. Active duty and retired military personnel, family members, and guests may use Engineer Beach. Patrons may reserve campsites at Outdoor Recreation.

We now offer fishing at Lake Tholocco. Individuals must be sure to get their Alabama Fishing License as well as their Fort Rucker permit. Both can be purchased at the Outdoor Recreation office which is located at Lake Tholocco, West Beach. Alabama permit will be $9.50 and the Fort Rucker permit is $15.00. You must have BOTH to fish on Fort Rucker. If For more information call 255-4305. Also we offer Boat Issue at the Outdoor Recreation Office. We have Mini Bass Boats, Jon Boats, Pontoon Boats, and fishing boats, and trailers.  These can be issued at a daily, weekly, or hourly rate. The attached list provides items for issue and their fees.
